Could you be our next Membership Secretary?

On behalf of the Committee and our members, I'd like to extend our thanks to Paul Kirkpatrick for the SEAOA for so long as Membership Secretary. He has been the glue that has held us all together.

We will be sad to see him step down from the Committee but also excited to welcome a new face at our Conference and AGM on Sunday 20th November 2022.

Could that face be yours?

A part of the SEAOA Committee, the Membership Secretary has a key role to play in supporting the whole committee in the support of officials in the South East of England. The maintenance of membership records and the management of the website contract are the bedrock of good communications to the membership and sound financial planning for the Association.

Paul has listed the tasks as:

  • Maintain the Membership database.
  • Take requests for new membership and send out renewal reminders and membership confirmations.
  • Liaise with Treasurer, and Conference Secretary to give them the information needed for their roles.
  • Order and distribute UKA and WA rule books.
  • Liaise with the SEAOA website master to keep site up to date; receive enquiries from the website contact form and post meeting minutes etc.; control Members only access to the website.

Good record keeping is essential, and currently email is using a gmail account, and data is stored on "Google Drive", using Excel and Word.

Further Information
You'll find more detail here.
If that intrigues you and you would like to find out more about the role please contact Paul Kirkpatrick at: seaoamembsec@gmail.com

Next Steps
As a Committee position, the Membership Secretary is selected through a vote at the AGM which, this year, is being held on 20th November during the annual Conference.

If you are interested please send a few lines about yourself, your interests, and how you hope to help the SEOAO support our officials to seaoamembsec@gmail.com. This will be passed on to me.

If you would like to stand but are unable to attend the AGM in person that won’t be a problem.

I look forward to hearing from you
